# Manage benefit eligibility and enrollment

> Review people on a country contract and record justified eligibility decisions.

Use owner or admin access in your company's employer view. Benefits Admin must be available. These steps apply to active benefits your company manages; Redii-managed products use their own enrollment screens.

**Eligibility** records whether someone qualifies. **Enrollment** records whether they are enrolled. Changing one does not automatically complete the other or enroll someone with an external provider.

## Find the right people

1. Open **Benefits**, then the benefit.
2. Select **People** and choose the **Country contract**.
3. Search for the person or use the status filters.
4. Check the employee, work details, **Eligibility**, and **Enrollment** before making a change.

If no active contracts are available, check the benefit and country offering status. Suspended memberships have restricted actions.

## Record an eligibility exception

1. Open the person's action menu and choose **Override** or **Manage override**.
2. Select the intended **Eligibility** value.
3. Enter a **Reason** explaining the approved exception.
4. Select **Save override**, then check the row.

The override takes precedence over that contract's country rule. To return to the rule, open **Manage override**, select **Use contract rule**, enter the **Reason for clearing override**, and select **Clear override**.

Use your company's policy and authorization for the decision. An override should record a real exception, not hide missing or incorrect employment information.

## Record enrollment

For an eligible person, choose **Mark enrolled** from their action menu. Choose **Unenroll** to record that they are no longer enrolled. These actions update the record, so verify the person and contract before selecting them.

If **Mark enrolled** opens an eligibility override, check whether an exception is justified. Saving an eligible override is a separate step; you must then mark the person enrolled.

For **Enrolled but ineligible**, check the underlying facts. The available actions include **Override eligible** and **Unenroll**. Do not choose either simply to clear the warning. [Contact support](/contact-support) if the correct status or permitted action is unclear.
