# Ask for retirement statements or tax documents

> Specify the record and period you need, and find out how to obtain it.

Use **Retirement Benefits → History** to [review available activity](/members/retirement/review-history). If you need an official statement, tax document, or another record, ask your employer or plan administrator how to obtain it. [Contact Redii support](/contact-support) if you need help identifying the right contact.

## Describe the record you need

Include:

* Your company and plan name.
* The type of document requested, or what the person asking for it needs to verify.
* The relevant period or tax year.
* Any deadline or required format.

If you are asking about a particular contribution or fee, include its date and displayed description. You do not need to send your full financial history in the initial enquiry.

You can adapt this message:

> I need \[document or record] for my \[plan name] account through \[company], covering \[period or tax year]. It is needed for \[purpose] by \[date, if applicable]. Please confirm whether it is available, who issues it, and how I can obtain it securely.

## Confirm availability and delivery

Ask which document can be provided, which period it covers, and how you will receive it. For a tax-document request, ask the administrator which documents the plan issues for your circumstances. Availability and timing depend on the plan and document.

Keep any request reference. If the document appears incorrect, identify the specific name, date, amount, or period that needs checking and reply through the agreed channel.

A screenshot of History may help explain your question. It is not necessarily the official document the recipient requires; confirm what they will accept.
