# View your retirement account

> Check contributions, holdings, investment allocation, and account history.

After [enrolling](/members/retirement/enroll), open **Retirement Benefits** from your member navigation.

## Check the dashboard

On the retirement **Dashboard**, review **Total value** and **Total contributions**. These show different things: the value of your account and the amounts contributed.

Where shown, **Vested contribution amount**, **Unvested contribution amount**, and **Next vesting milestone** describe the vesting information for your contributions. See [Understand the vesting display](/members/retirement/understand-vesting) for how the contribution amounts and valuation dates differ.

## Explore your portfolio

Select **Portfolio**, then choose a tab:

* **Fund Holdings** shows the funds held in your portfolio.
* **Performance Analysis** shows the available performance information.
* **Target Allocation** shows how your investment preference allocates contributions.

Your target allocation and current holdings can differ. [Changing your strategy](/members/retirement/change-investment-strategy) affects future contributions and does not rebalance existing holdings.

## Check account activity

Select **History** to review available contribution, fee, rate-change, and strategy-change records. Use the type and year filters to narrow the list. [Review contributions, fees, and changes](/members/retirement/review-history) explains the expandable rows and fee details.

If a contribution you expect is missing, ask your employer to check its processing status. For an unexpected account display or an error opening the page, [contact support](/contact-support).

## Before interpreting an empty value

Check the date and available data on the page. A dash or unavailable performance figure is not a zero balance or a zero return. Holdings, contributions, and historical performance can have different data available. For missing information or an unexpected result, use [Retirement troubleshooting](/members/retirement/troubleshooting).
